Two Week Old Max

So, I should start off this blog post with a disclaimer: I've never had a baby.

BUT, if I were to have a baby, I think that capturing newborn photos of my precious little bundle of joy would be a huge priority to me (and I'm not saying that only because I'm a newborn photographer!). In fact, I was just talking to a photographer friend about the importance of newborn photos the other day, just before finding out she is pregnant herself (CONGRATS again!!)!

We always hear people say about children that "they grow up so quickly", and I imagine that any parent can and will tell you their newbie has gone from teeny tiny babe to toddler in what seemed to be an instant (am I right, parents?!?). Just even think about how quickly they grow and develop in the first several weeks - how they go from having their eyes closed pretty much all day to being awake and alert, paying attention to their environment, for example.

Well, I first met precious little Max on his two week old birthday. He was simply adorable and did amazingly well for his first photo session. He achieved the perfect balance of sleeping for photos vs. being awake for photos.

Max's parents, Matt & Jocelyn, are pretty great, too, so he's definitely one lucky little guy!

So now, please let me introduce you to the whole fam jam and give you a sneak peek into their lives now that little Max has made his appearance...

And now for some of my favourites from the recent newborn session in Matt & Jocelyn's home...

This picture was taken just before Matt turned to his wife and said, "oh no, what have we done?!?" <3

So now, for a not-so-shameless plug for my little small town photography business: if you're having a baby sometime soon, contact me! I would love to have the opportunity to meet your baby as a tiny little newborn and photograph the rest of your family doting over the wee one!! Don't forget - they grow up fast!

See the doting?? They're so in love with the little guy...
